DC Meets Civil And Police Officers To Make Strong Arrangements For The Convenience Of Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Wedding Ceremony September 13 at Batala.

GURDASPUR: Deputy Commissioner Mr. Mohammad Ishfaq along with civil, police and administrators of Gurdwara Sahib at the local panchayat to make solid arrangements for the convenience of the sangat during the wedding ceremony of Jagat Guru Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji on September 13 at Batala.

 During the meeting the Deputy Commissioner gave strict instructions to the officers of the concerned departments to complete all the preparations before the wedding so that no inconvenience would be caused to the sangat.

Mr. Rahul Additional Deputy Commissioner (Or), Mr. Balraj Singh Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development), Mr. Jagwinderjit Singh Grewal, Commissioner Municipal Corporation Batala, Mr. Balwinder Singh SDM Gurdaspur, Mrs. Shairi Malhotra SDM Batala, Mr. Pawan Kumar Pamma, Chairman Nagar Sudhar Trust Batala, Gurtinder Pal Singh Bhatia Manager Gurdwara Sri Kandh Sahib, Davinder Singh Manager Gurdwara Satkariyan and Dehra Sahib, Dr. Harbhajan Civil Surgeon, Axian Baldev Singh and Harjot Singh were present.

During the meeting the Deputy Commissioner said that we are very fortunate that the first Patshahi Guru Nanak's Charan Choh Dharti Batala is being held at Batala and we are becoming a part of this great event.

He told all the officers that a large number of Sangats were attending the pre-wedding function and no stone should be left unturned for their convenience.
The Deputy Commissioner asked the officials of the Municipal Corporation for the overall sanitation arrangements in the city of Batala to ensure proper cleanliness of the entire city of Batala and especially Gurdwara Sri Kandh Sahib, Gurdwara Satkartariyan Sahib and Gurdwara Dehra Sahib and places / roads along the route of Nagar Kirtan. Ensure that cleaning is done and arrangements are made to remove the piles of garbage immediately.
Decorative gates and flags should also be installed in the city.

 He asked the officials of Powercom to fix the power lines in the places / roads of Nagar Kirtan route in a neat manner and to fix the loose wires immediately.

The Deputy Commissioner asked the officers of the police department not to be lax in strengthening the security arrangements. Security arrangements should be made during Nagar Kirtan in an orderly manner and no shortcomings should be allowed in facilitating traffic especially for the convenience of the Sangat.
He asked the officials of the health department to set up additional medical teams and control rooms in view of the influx of sangats and arrange for additional ambulances. Masks and sanitizers should also be provided to the sangat.
 He also said that milk, curd and sweet shops should be checked so that no adulteration of food items was done by the shopkeepers keeping in view the large influx of devotees.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the various departments including Manager Roadways Batala, Fire Brigade to complete all the preparations before the wedding.
On this occasion Mr. Gurtinder Singh Bhatia Manager Mr. Kandh Sahib brought to the notice of the Deputy Commissioner that work was yet to be done on some of the roads of Nagar Kirtan route like Police Line Road, Model Town, Qadianwala Phatak Road, Simbal Chowk, Nagar The condition of Road with Improvement Trust Road, Gandhi Chowk Road, Thathiari Gate, Nehru Gate etc. is very bad, it should be repaired.

 Apart from this, piles of garbage have also been set up at some places and piles of earth have to be removed on the newly constructed Hansli Bridge and Qadian Road. In this regard the Deputy Commissioner gave strict orders to the officers of the concerned departments to ensure that
