DC asks rural development officials to meet MNREGA targets in current fiscal year

KAPURTHALA: To ensure the completion of Punjab Governments flagship programs in rural areas of the district, Deputy commissioner kapurthala Deepti Uppal has strictly asked the officials of Rural Development and Panchayat department to meet the 100 % utilization target of MNREGA funds worth Rs. 46 crore in the district.

Today in a review meeting here , Deputy commissioner said that the Punjab Government has sanctioned 46 crore under MNREGA which has to be spent before March 31st this year which has to be ensured , failing in inviting the stern action.

Talking about the newly launched "Smart village" campaign by the Chief Minister Punjab , Deputy commissioner said that the parks, thapar model ponds and sports stadiums must be completed on priority basis.

It may be mentioned here that the 25 sports stadium , 25 thapar model ponds to be constructed, 5 in each block. She also ordered that open zym, vollyball and basketball courts also to be build in the sports stadiums.

ADC D SP Angra said that the Thapar model pond at village Maseetan has been completed, which will be inagurated on this republic day.

Deputy commissioner also reviews the MPLAD development projects and strongly asked the officials to submit the utilization certificates towards the end of month.
