NAWANSHAHR:Today, the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Neo-democracy, held a demonstration in the town and demanded the arrest of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, blaming the Modi government for the death of human rights fighter Pastor Stan Swamy from Jharkhand. Earlier, addressing a gathering of party activists here at the bus stand, leaders Kulwinder Singh Warraich, Daljit Singh Advocate, Avtar Singh Tari, Gurbakhsh Kaur Sangha, Hari Ram Rasoolpuri and Jamhuri Adhikar Sabha Punjab leader Buta Singh said that Stan Swamy had been politically assassinated by the Modi government.

They said that earlier the Modi government through its police and intelligence agencies had deliberately framed Stan Swamy in the Bhima Kore Gaon case by falsifying the case. "Circumstances were created at the behest of Amit Shah and the NIA imposed severe sanctions on Stan Swamy, such as the UAPA, " they said adding that despite ill-health, he was denied both bail and medical facilities resulting in his death ultimately. The protesters maintained that as Swamy was siding with the state people in their struggle to save their "jal, jangal and jameen", he was proving to be an eyesore for the Modi government.
Demanding the release of the other jailed intellectuals, the leaders said that the health of Professor GN Sai Baba and many other intellectuals too was a matter of concern.
