KAPURTHALA:District Legal Services Authority, Kapurthala has distributed compensation of Rs. 8 lakh to the families of those killed in various road accidents.
Mr. Mahesh Kumar Sharma, Chief Judicial Magistrate cum Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Kapurthala said the compensation given in 4 untraceable cases in which the vehicle and driver involved in the accident could not be identified and the families of the deceased in such cases have been referred to the District Legal Services Authority under Punjab Victim Compensation Scheme, 2017.
He said that Mr. Amarinder Singh Grewal, District and Sessions Judge, Kapurthala have ordered the district legal service authority to pay a total compensation of Rs. 8 lakh to the families of victims.
Following these orders, Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar (Mohali) sent a grant of Rs. 8 lakh in just 2 days for compensation.
Members of the families of the deceased thanked the Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar (Mohali) and the District Legal Services Authority, Kapurthala to help them out in the hour of crisis.
