Center should stop stubborn behavior and talk to farmers: Sant Giani Harnam Singh Khalsa

AMRITSAR: Sant Harnam Singh Khalsa, Head, Damdami Taksal and President, Sant Samaj said that the Modi Government should abandon its stubborn attitude towards the farmers and convene an immediate meeting of the farmers leaders for a lasting solution to the problems of the farmers.

He lamented that the demand of the farmers for repeal of the black laws on agriculture was not being met by the Union government.

A large number of farmers from Punjab, Haryana and Western Uttar Pradesh have been protesting against the repeal of the black laws. For months, protests have been forced on Delhi's borders He said that the Supreme Court had stayed the implementation of agriculture laws till further orders but the Union government should break the stalemate in the talks and re-negotiate with the protesting farmers 'organizations for a lasting solution to the farmers' issue. .

He said that with the implementation of agriculture laws the fears of the farmers about the end of mandis and MSP system should be allayed. Sant Giani Harnam Singh Khalsa called upon all sections of the society to show solidarity with the struggling farmers who are fighting against the central agricultural laws, to raise their voice against the black laws and to oppose the central government.
