Budget by Punjab Finance Minister will put state on high growth trajectory.

PHAGWARA:Hailing the budget presented by Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal as pro-people and development oriented, the former Punjab Minister and Chairman of Punjab Agro Industries Corporation  Joginder Singh Mann today said that it will further put state on high growth trajectory.

In a statement issued here today, the former Minister said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has demonstrated its commitment for the growth of the state and the prosperity of its people. He said that the Chief Minister has ensured that the state government has worked tirelessly for making Punjab a welfare state. Welcoming the decision to allow free travel to all the women in government buses of the state, S Mann said that it will give a much needed reprieve to women especially from weaker and underprivileged sections of society.
The Chairman of Punjab Agro Industries Corporation welcomed the decision to set up the state of the art museum dedicated to Chief Architect of Indian constitution Bharat Ratna Baba Sahib Dr BR Ambedkar to come up at Rs 100’crore. He said that this memorial to come up over 25 acres of land at Kapurthala will be a humble but befitting tribute to the great leader. Mann envisioned that it will go a long in perpetuating the life and philosophy of this iconic leader who played a great role welfare of poorest of poor in the state.
The former Minister said that decisions to enhanced Aashirwad scheme from Rs 21000 to Rs 51000 and Old age pension to Rs 1500 from Rs 750 will help in well being of poor people. He said that the decision to waive off Rs 523 outstanding debt of the Landless labour will also play a major role in well being of food growers. S Mann said that by accepting recommendations of Pay commission to enhance salary of government employees and implement it from July this year was also a welcome step that will put a burden of RS 9000 crore on state exchequer.
The former Minister also envisioned that the ‘Kamyaab Kisaan, Khushal Punjab’ scheme launched for crop diversification will give major relief to farmers of the state. He said that the decision to allocate RS 3082 for Health department will ensure quality health services to people. S Mann also welcomed decision to upgrade more than 200 government schools in the state.
