PATIALA: Bir Devinder Singh formet deputy speaker of Punjab Vidhan Sabha today flayed SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal for taking credit of covid care centers being sert up by Shiromani Gurdwara Parbhandak Committee (SGPC).
In a statement here he said that he wholeheartedly appreciated the endeavors of the SGPC for opening Covid Care Centers at different places for the suffering humanity, during Covid pandemic; but the politicization of the solemn occasion, despoils the intended ideas. The blatant misuse of the occasion by Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal for political purposes, which is funded by the SGPC, is highly deplorable.
He stated that it did not look pleasant to misuse the devastating tragedies of Covid pandemic to revive the lost credibility of his party and seriously faded image of the Badal family; it certainly insults the noble objectives of a good cause. The outrageous ceremonial appearance of Sukhbir Singh Badal on each of the occasion of the openings of the Covid care Centers by the SGPC, incurring huge expenses out of ‘Guru’s Bursary (Golak)’ , agonizes the general Public; it rather appears politically unwise and ethically deficient of sagaciousness.
One would not mind the Presence of Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal on the opening of Covid Care Centers by the SGPC, if he himself contributes some significant amount from his own pocket to finance such endeavors of the SGPC. But to be present for mere photo opportunity, looks awkward and contemptuously disgraceful.
Bibi Jagir Kaur President of the SGPC should be conscious of such debaucheries, which bring disgrace to the institution of SGPC. Why not the Head Priest of Sri Akal Takhat , Amritsar, Giani Harpreet Singh and other Priests of the Sikh Takhtas or Panj Payaras, inaugurates such missionary facilities by praying and performing Ardas on the occasion, for the wellbeing of the suffering human beings ? This kind of initiative would rather enhance the sobriety of the gracious purpose.
