AMRITSAR:Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Bibi Jagir Kaur has written a letter to the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to reopen the Kartarpur Sahib Pakistan corridor.

She demanded that the corridor of Sri Kartarpur Sahib connected with the faith of the Sangat should be opened immediately and for this initiative should be taken on the occasion of Guru Nanak's birth anniversary.

Bibi Jagir Kaur said that the Parkash Divas of the first Guru on November 19 was being celebrated by the sangats all over the world, which should be revived while bowing down.

She said that the crossing which was temporarily closed during Corona but did not reopen even when conditions were favorable, hurt the faith of the Sangat.

SGPC Chief said that now life was going on as usual and flights to foreign countries were also open. Bibi Jagir Kaur said that although corona rules should be enforced for the pilgrims going to Sri Kartarpur Sahib, but this crossing should not remain closed for long.

Meanwhile, Bibi Jagir Kaur also slammed the Uttar Pradesh government for canceling the day of martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib and imposing Chhath Puja holiday in its place.

She said that the holiday of Chhath Puja has been given without any doubt, but in return it is not right to cancel the holiday of the ninth king's martyrdom day.
Bibi Jagir Kaur said that a letter was also being written to the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Aditya Nath in this regard.
