AMRITSAR:Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Bibi Jagir Kaur said that apart from reopening the corridor of Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib, the Governments of India and Pakistan were also invited to visit Gurdwara Sri Nankana Sahib, the abode of Guru Nanak. Consideration should be given to permission.

Talking to the media at the SGPC office, Jagir Kaur said that the two countries should take a joint decision to reopen the Sri Kartarpur Sahib corridor which was closed due to corona as the ban on corona was almost lifted. If restrictions on educational institutions and markets as well as public places have been eased, the corridor of Sri Kartarpur Sahib should also be opened.

She said that due to limited number of pilgrims visiting Kartarpur Sahib, it was not logical to continue the ban. Bibi Jagir Kaur also demanded from the Government of India and Pakistan that Gurdwara Sri Nankana Sahib Pakistan should be allowed open viewing like Sri Kartarpur Sahib.

She said that the devotees could visit Sri Nankana Sahib in the morning on the pattern of Sri Kartarpur Sahib and return in the evening.
The SGPC President said that although the decision was to be taken by the governments in view of the circumstances, it should still be considered.
Meanwhile, Bibi Jagir Kaur strongly condemned the removal of Nishan Sahib from Gurdwara Sahib by the Taliban in Afghanistan.
She appealed to the Government of India to ensure the safety of Sikh places of worship and Sikhs living in Afghanistan. Bibi Jagir Kaur said that repeated harassment of Sikhs in Afghanistan was a blow to minorities.
