AMRITSAR: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief spokesperson and MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal launched a sharp attack on Punjab BJP Women Wing President and daughter of former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, Jai Inder Kaur. Dhaliwal said that instead of protesting against the AAP government in Chandigarh over the demand of Rs 1, 000 for women, she should question her father sitting at Siswan Farm.
Addressing a press conference on Saturday, Dhaliwal said that, before protesting, Jai Inder Kaur should ask her father what happened to the promises made to the people of Punjab when they formed the government in 2017. Dhaliwal reminded that Captain Amarinder Singh had taken a sacred oath on the holy Gutka Sahib, promising to end drugs within four weeks, provide one job per household and give unemployment allowance to the youth. But after coming to power, he did not fulfill even a single promise.
Targeting the BJP, Dhaliwal said that she belongs to the same party which, after coming to power at the Centre in 2014, had promised to deposit ₹15 lakh into every citizen's account. BJP leaders should tell where those ₹15 lakh are. She should also give an account of the ‘Har Ghar Naukri’ forms that unemployed youth of Punjab submitted during her father's government, which were thrown into the dustbin.
Dhaliwal said that the AAP government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has so far provided government jobs to 58, 000 youth. He challenged Jai Inder Kaur to at least give an account of just 10 jobs given during her father's tenure.
Dhaliwal made it clear that the Aam Aadmi Party fulfills what it promises. We fulfilled the guarantee of 300 units of free electricity, as a result of which today more than 90% of households in Punjab are receiving zero electricity bills. We established Schools of Eminence, improved the quality of education, and set up more than 900 Aam Aadmi Clinics across Punjab providing free treatment and medicines. He said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has already announced that from March onwards, women will start receiving ₹1, 000. Our government is committed to fulfilling every guarantee.
Dhaliwal advised that if Jai Inder Kaur truly wants to protest, she should protest not against the AAP government but against the Modi government in Delhi and against her father sitting at Siswan Farm, who deceived the people of Punjab and the country by making false promises.
