We thanked Go First for the launch of 3 daily direct flights to Delhi, 2 to Mumbai, 1 daily to Srinagar and expressed happiness that the airline is also providing convenient one-stop transfer connections to other major destinations in India like Lucknow, Bagdogra (Siliguri), Guwahati, Hyderabad, Nagpur, Chennai, Varanasi via their connecting hubs of Delhi and Mumbai.

Go First officials assured the delegation that they would further evaluate the opportunities and consider them according to the airline’s future expansion plans. AVM also encouraged the airline to use night parking facility at the airport.
The launching of Go First services from the airport was another achievement for Amritsar Vikas Manch and FlyAmritsar Initiative, as they had reached out to the airline in Jan 2021 with detailed statistics, said Yogesh Kamra. The team of Go First senior officials later visited the Airport and also met with AVM members. He further added that after the meeting, the airline agreed to launch services from Amritsar from late March 2021, but the plan had to be delayed due to the 2nd COVID-19 pandemic wave in the country.
Ravreet Singh, an aviation blogger said that the arrival of GoFirst at the airport, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, promises a strong rebound of the domestic traffic at the airport in the upcoming months. He further added that, the increase in the domestic traffic flow, would eventually also provide a much-needed boost to the economy and the tourism industry of Amritsar.
The delegation accompanied the airline officials to visit Sadda Pind and paid obeisance at Sri Harmandir Sahib Amritsar. The officials were also honored with a Siropa (robe of honor) and religious literature by SGPC at the information office of Sri Darbar Sahib Amritsar.
