Administration to organize nine self-employment loan fairs from Dec 8 to 24

JALANDHAR: To provide financial support to the youths for starting their ventures so that they can live their life with dignity and pride, the Administration would organize nine self-employment loan fairs from December 8 to December 24 in the district under Ghar-Ghar Rozgaar and Karobar Mission scheme.
Presiding over a meeting with the representatives of banks and officials of various departments in the district administrative complex, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Vishesh Sarangal, who is also CEO of District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises, said that the self-employment loan fairs would start from December 8 and first fair would be organized in the office of BDPO Nakodar.
He revealed that on December 10, fairs would be held in BDPO Shahkot, on December 11 in BDPO Bhogpur, on December 15 in BDPO Mehatpur, on December 17 in BDPO Phillaur, on December 18 in Government Polytechnic College (Girls) Jalandhar, on December 22 in DBEE office, on December 23 in District Industries Centre, Focal Point and on December in BDPO Adampur.
He said that loans under various programs including Prime Minister Employment Guarantee Program (PMEGP), Prime Minister Mudra Yojna, and Start-Up India would be provided to the youths so that they can start their businesses.
Sarangal said that besides providing jobs to the unemployed youths, DBEE was also acting as a catalyst to help the youth in getting loans for self-employment. He said the DBEE has been actively involved in creating awareness amongst the youth to ensure that they could take benefit of government schemes that could help in making youth self-reliant.
He said that in the past, a large number of youths have been able to open their vistas and have become partners in the socio-economic growth of the state. The Additional Deputy Commissioner said that this would be a major milestone to ensure that the youth could live their lives with dignity and pride.
He said efforts are being made by the administration to ensure that the entrepreneurship skills of the youth were further harnessed by extending more such loans to them. He also directed the banks to extend fulsome support and cooperation to the youth for starting their vistas.
