AAP government fails to control drugs, over 1000 youth die every month due to drug overdose: Raja Warring

PATIALA: Punjab Pardesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today blamed the AAP government in Punjab for not making serious efforts to curb the drug menace in the state. He was addressing a massive rally on 'Naukari Devo Nasha Nahi' organised here today by Punjab Youth Congress.

Raja Warring while hailing the Punjab Youth Congress president Mohit Mohindra for taking initiative against drugs and unemployment in the state, said that 4 deaths due to overdose of drugs were reported every day and many deaths go unreported in Punjab. He said that deaths of over 1000 youth every month due to drugs was an alarming situation and Bhagwant Mann government has failed to control the drug mafia.

Raja Warring underlined the role of Youth Congress in state politics and said that atleast 60 seats should be allotted to youth in the 2027 assembly elections.

PPCC president said that he felt sorry that former Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh had failed the Congress in taking action against drug lords. He added that Capt Amarinder Singh had betrayed the Congress and said that Congress party would prepare a road map to end drugs in the state.

PPCC president alleged that Bhagwwant Mann was using force against the farmers on the directions of union home minister Amit Shah. He said that AAP leadership had made false promises with farmers and other sections of society.

Raja Warring also lashed out at SAD leader Sukhbir Singh Badal for lowering the status of Akal Takht and other Sikh institutions. He said that Sukhbir Badal accepted his guilt publicly before the Sikh High Priests and after getting punished, he removed the Jathedars.

CLP leader Partap Singh Bajwa Arvind Kejriwal was preparing ground to grab Rajya seat from Punjab. He said that Rajiv Arora Rajya Sabha MP has been fielded from Ludhiana south seat for bye-election to pave his way to Rajya Sabha. He said that people of Punjab would not tolerate Kejriwal ruling Punjab without any mandate.

Bajwa said that AAP formed government on false promises with the people. He said that Bhagwant Mann had promised reverse migration of youth from abroad but in reality youth was running away from Punjab and falling prey to immigration agents. He said that youth which went abroad was deported from USA and it has exposed the lies of AAP government.

He said that Punjab government was being run by Arvind Kejriwal and his team from Hoshiarpur. He stated that mass transfers of officers were ordered by Kejriwal who wants to rule Punjab by proxy.

Alok Sharma AICC secretary and in charge of Punjab Congress pointed out that Punjab was among the three states where unemployment is the highest. He said that crime was on rise and gangster rule is prevailing in the state. He said that no action was taken against drug smugglers in the last three years. He said that AAP was kicked out from Delhi and now people of Punjab would show them the way out.

Rana KP Singh former speaker of Punjab Vidhan Sabha said that falsehood created by AAP to grab power in Punjab has brought bad name to entire political class. The AAP has broken the trust of people. He said that an anarchy rule was prevailing in Punjab. He asked youth congress to create awareness about misdeeds of AAP government.

Mohit Mohindra who welcomed the state leaders said that communal forces were raising head in Punjab. He said that BJP was trying to divide the society. He said that Congress was the only party which can keep people united and keep Punjab safe. He said that youth was frustrated from AAP government. He said that 'Naukari Devi, Nasha Nahi campaign by Indian Youth Congress was aimed to expose the double standards of AAP government. He also demanded to set up a commission of inquiry against officers who rigged the Panchayat and Municipal elections.

He thanked the Rishendra Singh Mahar incharge of Punjab Congress for extending full support to youth congress in its campaign against drugs. He said that IYC president Uday Bhanu Chib had given the programme of Naukari Devo, Nasha Nahi and guided the state unit to lead from front.
