PHAGWARA: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has given party ticket to former Congress Minister Joginder Singh Mann from Phagwara assembly seat. Mann a promienant dalit face of Malwa has joined AAP only two days back.
Joginder Singh Mann was minister in the Beant Singh Government and presently he was Chairman of the Punjab Agro Industries Corporation with cabinet rank. He weilds strong influence among dalit community. He is related to family of former Union Home Minister late Buta Singh.
AAP has fielded Ajitpal Singh Kohli from Patiala. Kohli is former mayor of Amritsar and son of former Akali minister Surjit Singh Kohli. He joined AAP a few days back.
Gurpreet Singh Gogi is fielded from Ludhiana west. He is senior Congress leader and Chairman of Punjab small Industries and export Corporation. He resigned from Congress to join AAP.
