AMRITSAR: A jatha of Sikh devotees led by senior member SGPC Khushwibder Singh Bhatia was sent to Pakistan by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee to celebrate the 554th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji at Gurdwara Sri Nankana Sahib.

Before the departure of the jatha, members of the Shiromani Committee. Gurmeet Singh Booh and Secretary Pratap Singh and other officers gave Guru Bakshish siropao to the Jatha leaders and devotees.
On this occasion, the leader of the jatha Khushwinder Singh Bhatia said that out of the 1684 pilgrims sent by the Shiromani Committee this time, 788 pilgrims were not given visas by the Pakistan High Commission, due to which the pilgrims are angry.
He said that although Guru Nanak Dev Ji's birth anniversary celebrations are celebrated all over the world, it is an auspicious moment for devotees to be a part of Gurpurab celebrations at Guru Sahib's shrine.
He said that it is a matter of honor for him to lead the Jatha on the occasion of Prakash Purab of Jagat Guru Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
He said that every Sikh longs to visit the Gurdwara Sahibs located in Pakistan and the government should provide as much as possible to the pilgrims.
Meanwhile, Secretary of the Shiromani Committee. Pratap Singh said that on November 26, the jatha of pilgrims will pay obeisance from Gurdwara Sri Nankana Sahib to Gurdwara Sri Sacha Sauda, Mandi Chuharkana (Shekhupura). On November 27, this jatha will participate in the Prakash Gurpurab celebrations at Gurdwara Sri Nankana Sahib.
Similarly, on November 29, pilgrims will go to Gurudwara Sri Panja Sahib Hasan Abdal and on November 30, the jatha will reach Gurdwara Sri Dehra Sahib Lahore. On December 2, Sangat will visit Gurdwara Sri Dehra Sahib Lahore, Gurdwara Sri Rori Sahib Amanabad and Gurdwara Sri Darbar Sahib Sri Kartarpur Sahib and return to Sri Dehra Sahib Lahore in the evening. On December 3, the Jatha will stop at Gurdwara Sri Dehra Sahib, Lahore, from where the Jatha will return to India on December 4.
