4714 young boys and girls get employment in 7th state level mega job fairs in district Gurdaspur

GURDASPUR: The Punjab Government has provided employment to 4714 young boys and girls including 3287 boys and 1427 girls in five days employment fairs organized by the Punjab Government under the Ghar-Ghar employment mission in District Gurdaspur.


Disclosing this here today District Employment Officer Mr. Prashotam Singh said that under the direction of Deputy Commissioner five 'Mega Employment Fairs' were organized in the district on 9th, 10th, 14th, 16th and 17th September 2021.


Mr. Prashotam Singh said that 1167 candidates participated in the job fair organized on 9th September at Golden Institute Gurdaspur. 967 candidates were interviewed and 893 candidates were selected out of which 564 were boys and 329 were girls. Similarly, 850 candidates attended the job fair on September 10, 788 were interviewed and 759 candidates were selected out of which 615 were boys and 144 were girls.
He further said that on September 14, S.S.M College Dina nagar, 744 candidates reached, 653 were interviewed and 621 were selected including 413 boys and 208 girls. The 4th Job Fair held on 16th September at Government College, Batala was attended by 1365 candidates, 1204 candidates were interviewed and 1139 were selected including 901 boys and 237 girls. The 5th Job Fair also reached 763 candidates at Government College Batala, 671 candidates were interviewed and 618 were selected including 485 boys and 133 girls.
The District Employment Officer further said that in these employment fairs employment was also provided to the candidates through virtual / telephone. Of the 658 candidates, 315 were interviewed and 249 were selected, including 66 boys and 183 girls.
