AMRITSAR: Sri Akhand Path Sahib was started by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) to show remorse for the incident that took place yesterday at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib.
Speaking on the occasion, SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami said that the incident which took place last evening at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, the spiritual center of all mankind, has caused deep mental anguish to the entire Sikh community.
He asked the governments to find out the conspiracy behind this. He warned that if such incidents were not stopped then the governments would be responsible for the deteriorating environment in the state.
SGPC President also condemned the attempt to desecrate Gurdwara Sahib at village Nizampur in Kapurthala district.
He cautioned the sangat to ensure attendance at their respective Gurdwaras at all times.
Meanwhile, the SGPC President said that the incident at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib was being investigated.
The Shiromani Committee is watching CCTV footage, which aims to get complete information about the arrival of the accused here. It will also be seen whether he arrived here alone or with some other companion.
The SGPC President lauded the performance of the Sangat and the SGPC employees in apprehending the person who came for descreation and said that the staff posted inside Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib has performed their duty with vigilance.
He specifically mentioned that Singh Sahib Giani Baljit Singh who was reciting Rehraas did not allow any breach of code of conduct even during this difficult time and continued the recitation.
Prominent personalities including Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, President of the Shiromani Committee were present at the inauguration of Sri Akhand Path Sahib at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall.
