AMRITSAR: In connection with the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee(SGPC) President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, Jathedar of Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib and Acting Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib reached Assam to start the historic Shaheedi Nagar Kirtan from Gurdwara Sahib Patshahi Nauvin Dhobri Sahib, the place where the feet of Guru Sahib were touched.
Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargajj, Jathedar of Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib and Acting Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Budha Dal Chief Jathedar Baba Balbir Singh 96th Crore, Padma Shri Baba Sewa Singh Khadoor Sahib, Baba Kashmir Singh Bhuri Wale, Baba Sukhwinder Singh Bhuri Wale, SGPC Chief Secretary S. Kulwant Singh Mannan, members Bhai Rajinder Singh Mehta, S. Surjit Singh Bhittewad, Bhai Ajaib Singh Abhishek, S. Jagsir Singh Mangeana and Secretary of Dharam Prachar Committee S. Balwinder Singh Kahlwan, along with all the Panthic personalities, were given a warm welcome by the local congregation.
It is noteworthy that this historic Nagar Kirtan will begin tomorrow, August 21, after the Bhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib at Gurdwara Dhobari Sahib, which will pass through various states of the country and will culminate at Gurdwara Sisganj Sahib, Sri Anandpur Sahib in November on the occasion of the centenary celebrations. Before the commencement of the Nagar Kirtan, religious diwans will be arranged, in which Panthic personalities including the Shiromani Committee President will address the Sangat.
Meanwhile, today, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee organized a Gurmat Samagam in the memory of Shaheed Baba Jiwan Singh Ji at Gurdwara Dhobari Sahib. In which the Hazuri Raagi Jathas of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib performed Gurbani Kirtan and Singh Sahib Giani Balwinder Singh shared history with the Sangat. He appealed to the Sangat to take inspiration from the history of Baba Jiwan Singh and become followers of Gurmat. Pracharaks and Dhadi Jathas also attended the event.

Meanwhile, Diwakar Nath, Deputy Commissioner, District Dhobri, warmly welcomed the delegation led by SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami and Acting Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargajj on behalf of Assam Chief Minister Hemant Biswa Sharma upon their arrival at Dhobri Sahib.
