NAKODAR: The Mehat Pur police have arrested Amar Singh son of Mukhtiar Singh a resident of Mallanwala village in Feroze Pur in a dowry harassment case.
Gurnam Kaur wife of Kehar Singh a resident of Kaimwala village, Mehat Pur had filed a complaint to senior superintendent of police, Jalandhar (rural), that her son in-law had been harassing her daughter and demanding more and more dowry since her marriage.
The investigating officer Tarlochan Singh said a case under section 498-A (husband or relative of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) was registered against the accused after an inquiry.
