POJEWAL(Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar):Jai Krishan Singh Rouri, Deputy Speaker, Punjab Vidhan Sabha, was
accorded rousing welcome at his native village Rouri in SBS Nagar
district.
On his arrival at his birthplace, he was greeted by the people
performing Bhangra on the beat of drums. He was given "Guard of
Honour" on his first visit to the district after becoming the Deputy
Speaker.
SP (H) Manvinderbir Singh and SDM Banga Navneet Kaur Bal were also
present there.
Addressing the villagers, he said that out of the six guarantees
given to the people before the formation of the government in Punjab,
five had been fulfilled by the Chief Minister Mr. Bhagwant Mann .
Assuring the completion of Kandi canal, the biggest demand of
the area, he said that water would soon flow into Kandi canal, which
would irrigate the fields of Garhshankar and Balachaur areas. He also
said that out of 6650 newly recruited primary teachers, Garhshankar
and Balachaur schools had got a large number of teachers. He said
that a special grant of Rs. 11 lakh would be given for the development
of Rouri village.
After paying obeisance at Gurdwara Sahib of his village, the Deputy
Speaker, Punjab Vidhan Sabha, Jai Krishan Singh Rouri said that his
family would always be indebted to his birthplace and its residents.
He said that honoring a common man like him with the coveted post
of Deputy Speaker of Punjab Legislative Assembly, AAP National
Convener Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had
made Kandi residents proud.
He said that while he would always be grateful for the honour
bestowed on him by his party, he would also be indebted to the people
of his area and the people of his native village and would always be
attached to his land.
