AMRITSAR: To commemorate the election festival on June 1 here in true sense, the local district administration will send the Invitation cards to the voters of Amritsar Lok Sabha Constituency to cast their vote on June 1. The Invitation cards are being printed in both languages Punjabi and English.
District Election Officer Mr. Ghansham Thori informed that we want to ensure participation of maximum number of voters in this festival of democracy. Therefore, just like invitations are sent to guests for weddings and other events, invitations will also be sent for voting on the same lines. Mr. Thori said that the number of invitation cards being printed in Phulkari design will be sent to 51032 youth who are voting for the first time. Apart from this, our senior voters 42018, who are above 80 years of age will recieve this invitation card, He said that there are only 505 voters who are above 100 years of age and 74 Voters are transgender, who will get this invitation cards.
On this occasion, Election Tehsildar Mr. Inderjit Singh said that these invitations have been printed and the duty of BLOs has been assigned to distribute them.
He said that this time in our district 1995719 total voters will use their ballot, which includes 1047086 men and 948559 women. Mr. Inderjit Singh appealed to all the voters to participate in this festival of democracy and cast their valuable vote on June 1.
