CHANDIGARH:Total 6789 cases were disposed off by the benches of serving judicial
officers constituted in new district courts complex, Chandigarh in the National Lok Adalat
held here on Saturday.
The cases included 05 Criminal Compoundable case involving an
amount of Rs.6, 000/-, 747 cases under Section 138 of N.I. Act involving an amount
of Rs.2, 93, 17, 752/-, 50 Motor Accident Claim cases involving an amount of Rs.4, 38, 02, 111/-,
43 Matrimonial/Family Disputes, 231 Civil Suits and Rent Cases, 103 Executions involving
an amount of Rs.11, 49, 89, 939/-, 01 Criminal Revision involving an amount of Rs.50, 00, 000/-,
58 Crl. Misc. involving amount of Rs.2, 17, 900/-, 27 Civil Misc. involving amount of
Rs.1, 10, 11, 537/-, 76 Arbitration cases, 19 Civil/Rent Appeals involving an amount of
Rs.4, 50, 000/-, 30 cases of 125 Cr.P.C., 43 case of D.V. Act, 21 Shop Act Case involving fine
of Rs.9, 37, 400/-, 10 Criminal Appeals involving amount of Rs.1, 20, 000/-, 05 cases of
Guardian Act, 01 Municipal Matter and 53 Untrace cases were settled, 5266 Traffic
Challans were also disposed of by imposing a fine of Rs.3, 72, 200/-.
Under the aegis of National Legal Services Authority, the State Legal Services
Authority alongwith District Legal Services Authority, U.T., Chandigarh organized National
Lok Adalat today on 11.12.2021 in the District Court, Sector 43, Chandigarh. Necessary
directions regarding safety of litigants, staff and Judicial officers of the Court during the
current situation of pandemic issued by the competent authority have been adhered to.
Sixteen benches headed by the serving Judicial Officers were constituted in
the District Courts, Sector-43, Chandigarh. Criminal Compoundable cases, cases under
Section 138 of N.I.Act, Bank Recovery cases, MACT Cases, Matrimonial Disputes, Labour
Disputes, Arbitration matters, other Civil Cases, Municipal Matters and Traffic Challans
were taken up and disposed off with the consent of the parties.
In addition to above, 10 cases involving an amount of Rs.8, 66, 991/- were
disposed of by Permanent Lok Adalat (Public Utility Services), 48 pre-litigative
cases involving an amount of Rs.12, 67, 925/-, 25 Labour Dispute Cases involving an amount
of Rs.10, 48, 338/-.
