AMRITSAR: Sarna Group suffered a big blow on Wednesday when the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) member Sukhbir Singh Kalra and joined Shiromani Akali Dal in the presence of DSGMC President Manjinder Singh Sirsa and SAD Delhi unit President Harmeet Singh Kalka. Sukhbir Singh Kalra has been elected member from ward no 2 Swaroop Nagar for second time.
Welcoming him in party fold, Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that he has left Sarna Group to respect mandate of Delhi Sangat and with a sole motive to serve sangat and Gurughar.
He said that our sole agenda is to serve humanity, and work for resolving issues that are pending since long. On the occasion Kalra said that Sarna brothers are running party as two member committee. He said that he was feeling suffocated under them and thus has decided to serve sangat by joining Akali Dal.
He said that he will extend every help to inaugurate Bala Sahib hospital at earliest and will help in running DSGMC schools and colleges. He also criticized Sarna duo for trying to stop inauguration of Bala Sahib hospital.
He also disclosed that more members will join Akali Dal soon as every member is fed up from Sarna brothers. He said that everyone was waiting as to who will join Akali Dal first and he decided to take lead to serve community.
He said that motive of members is to serve Sikh community and not indulging in dirty politics.
Welcoming him in Akali Dal, Harmeet Singh Kalka said that Kalra has decided to work with that party which serves humanity and stands with Sikh community. He said that more than half of the members of Sarna group are fed from working style of both brothers and they want to serve their community and thus are also likely to join Akali Dal soon. He also said that on one hand Sarna brothers were trying to woo members but on the other they are joining Akali Dal without any condition and without any greed.
On the occasion Sirsa also disclosed that process for Cooption is beginning from September 9 and General House will be called within 15 days after that which means that new body will be elected around September 24 or 25.
