DEHRADUN: There is no proposal to privatize the  power sector in Uttrakhand as all the engineers and employees are working wholeheartedly working for better performance and reducing the line losses said Radhika Jha Power Secretary Uttrakhand.

The General body meeting of Uttranchal Power Engineers Association was held on Saturday and was addressed by the directors of three companies.

Shalinder Dubey Chairman All India power Engineers Federation (AIPEF) said that the central government is hell-bent upon thrusting the privatization of the power sector on the people of the country, which is neither good for consumers nor for the employees. The government should withdraw the electricity amendment bill and scrap the standard bidding document. There is a need to integrate all the state discoms into one for better performance. The recruitment of staff should be on a regular basis and the old pension scheme should be restored.

Prabhat Singh General Secretary UP Vidhyut Parishad Abhianta Sangh said that in case of privitisation the number of the employees will be retired as the fate of employees will be in the hands of a private company.
