Hunger strike by Amrit Pal and other Sikh detainees in Dibrugarh jail in Assam ended

AMRITSAR: Hunger strike of Bhai Amrit Pal and other Sikh detained in Dibrugarh jail in Assam ended today with the Amrit of Har ki pouri sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib today.

These Sikh detainees were on hunger strike since February 16 against violation of privacy and human rights in jail.

On the orders of Jathedar Singh Sahib of Sri Akal Takht Sahib Giani Raghbir Singh, the five high priests who were sent to meet Bhai Amritpal Singh and other Sikh detainees in Dibrugarh Jail to end the hunger strike were Giani Malkit Singh, head Granthi of Sri Akal Takht Sahib.

Five high priests sent by the Jathedar Singh Sahib Giani Raghbir Singh of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, late this evening in Assam's Dibrugarh Central Jail, Bhai Amritpal Singh and fellow Singhs who were on hunger strike, after praying, offered Prasad and amrit of Hari Ki Pauri of Sachkhand Sri Harimandar Sahib.

Bhai Prem Singh, Bhai Nishan Singh, Bhai Balwinder Singh and Bhai Bikramjit Singh were involved.Advocate Bhagwant Singh Sialka, member of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee along with Panj Singh and uncle of Bhai Amritpal Singh. Sukhchain Singh was also involved.
On reaching Dibrugarh, Mr. Akal Takht Sahib met the detained Singhs after completing the administrative process.

Giving information in this regard, Advocate Bhagwant Singh Sialka said that after reaching Dibrugarh Jail, the detained Singhs were met and their health status was known. He said that the delegation of Akal Takht Sahib had to wait outside the jail for a long time due to the delay in completing the meeting process by the administration of the Punjab government.

Advocate Sialka said that in order to end the hunger strike of Bhai Amritpal Singh and the rest of the Singhs during the meeting, the Singhs were seated in the Sangat after being cleaned and according to the etiquette, Choupai Sahib and Anand Sahib were recited by Giani Malkit Singh, followed by Ardas. Done by Bhai Prem Singh.

He said that after the prayer, Bhai Amritpal Singh, Bhai Harjit Singh, Bhai Papalpreet Singh, Bhai Bhagwant Singh Bajeke, Bhai Varinder Singh Fauzi and Bhai Harjit Singh were given Prasad of Sachkhand Sri Harimandar Sahib and water of Hari Ki Pauri and their hunger strike ended. conducted.
He said that Bhai Amritpal Singh's religious wife Bibi Kirandeep Singh had also started a hunger strike, she was also present separately at the time of the meeting and her hunger strike was also ended.

He said that all the Singhs are on the upswing and have been assured that Akal Takht Sahib, Shiromani Committee and the entire Khalsa Panth are with them.

Advocate Sialka said that the Singhs detained in Dibrugarh Jail have thanked Jathedar Singh Sahib Giani Raghbir Singh of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, president of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Shiromani Akali Dal and all panthic organizations.
Meanwhile, Talwinder Singh Buttar, Media Advisor of Akal Takht Sahib Secretariat, has appealed to the detained Singhs who are on hunger strike in Amritsar and other jails in Punjab to also take food and water in honor of the orders of Akal Takht Sahib. End the hunger strike.
