Every new parent wants the best for their baby. They are willing to do everything to keep their infant healthy and happy. Since you have become parents for the first time, there are many things you don’t know about little baby care. Many parents learn the basics of baby care from their parents. No doubt, they are more experienced than you in this field. If you need help with baby care, you are in the right place. In this post, we will discuss everything you need to know about baby care.

Handling a Newborn

Newborn babies are fragile and that’s why you need to handle them with utmost care.

Here are some important things to remember:

  • You should always wash your hands or use a hand sanitizer before handling your little one. Since they don’t have a strong immune system, they are vulnerable to infection and diseases.
  • When carrying your baby, you should always support your baby's neck and head. This is a comfortable position for them.
  • You should never shake your newborn even while playing with them. That’s because it can cause bleeding in the brain, which could prove fatal to your baby’s health. If you need to wake up your baby, just blow gently on their cheeks or tickle their feet.
  • A newborn is not ready for rough play. Throwing them in the air or jiggling them should be avoided.

 Right Way To Diaper

Newborn babies wet their diapers at least 10 times a day. So you need to stay prepared for it. You should never leave your baby in wet diapers for too long as it can cause diaper rashes.

To prevent it from happening, you should follow these tips:

  • Change your baby's diaper as often as possible after bowel movements.
  • You should clean the area with mild baby soap and water. After that apply some diaper rash cream. It is recommended for you to use creams with zinc oxide because they form a barrier against moisture.
  • If you are using cloth diapers, you should wash them in mild detergents.
  • If diaper rashes don’t go away in 3 days, you should take your baby to the doctor.

New mothers often get tired and also get body pains while taking care of their baby. In this case, you can go to a physiotherapist. All you have to do is search for physiotherapist near me and you will get the list of physiotherapists in your area.
