Strict action will be taken against negligent officials in dengue: Soni

AMRITSAR: Expressing concern over the rising number of Daegu cases in the district, Mr. Om Prakash Soni, Minister for Medical Education and Research, Punjab, while giving strict instructions to the officials of Health Department and Municipal Corporation ordered fogging in the entire city.

Accelerate and ensure spraying wherever there is standing water. Mr. Soni sternly said that those who come to the hospitals for treatment of dengue should not be allowed to face any problem and beds for dengue patients should be reserved in all government hospitals.

Addressing the meeting, Mr. Soni said that daily fogging should be ensured in 20 wards of the city and the health department and the municipal corporation should jointly launch a war against dengue.

"We have already fought and won the war against Corona, and now we have to work together to save the city from dengue, " he said.

Instructing the Civil Surgeon, Mr. Soni said that along with the officials of the Municipal Corporation, the duty of doctors should also be imposed so that they could check up the people about dengue and also make the people aware about it. Mr. Soni said that the administrative officers should also visit their respective jurisdictions and where there is any shortcoming, it should be rectified.

Mr. Soni further said that strict disciplinary action would be taken against the officials and doctors for their negligence in dengue cases.
Mr. Soni said that challans should be issued at the places where dengue larvae are found.

He directed the health, municipal and other authorities to stop the spread of dengue at all costs this time and to give more emphasis on spraying of medicine in the affected areas last year. He said that the responsibility of the concerned department would be determined for this. Due to the high prevalence of this mosquito in the city, he clarified to the officials of the Municipal Corporation that wherever the health department says, the mosquito repellent should be sprayed immediately.

Mr. Soni appealed to the people of the city to keep clean the excess items in the houses, shops, offices and other places, which may contain rain water, only then the dengue sting can be avoided. .

Addressing the meeting Mayor Municipal Corporation Mr. Karamjit Singh Rintu said that new fogging machines were being procured by the Municipal Corporation and a daily report was being taken by them.
He said that fogging was being ensured in the congested markets of the city with the help of small machines. Has been instructed to work jointly.

Addressing the meeting Dr. Charanjit Singh, Civil Surgeon, Amritsar said that so far 303 cases of dengue have been detected in the district out of which 278 cases have been found positive and so far this year 546 challans have been issued for dengue larvae. He said that it was the responsibility of the Municipal Corporation to prevent stagnant water and to spray the water from time to time.

Prominent amongst others who were present in the meeting included Municipal Commissioner Mr. Malwinder Singh Jaggi, Commissioner of Police Mr. Vikramjit Duggal, District Malaria Officer Dr. Apart from Madan Mohan, Axion Municipal Corporation Mr. Sandeep Singh, Koslar Vikas Soni, Mr. Sarabjit Singh Latti, officials of various departments were present.
