Civil Surgeon Dr Gurdeep Singh Kapoor confirmed that four patients of Black Fungus were presently admitted in various hospitals in the district. While one person is being treated for the disease at the district's civil hospital here, three others are being treated in two different private hospitals in the town, he said.
The patient, a 60 year old diabetic, admitted in the civil hospital here said that he contracted the dreadful fungal infection after an attack of Covid-19. He said that he also had to undergo a nasal surgery at PGI a couple of days ago for the disease. He urged people not to delay Covid treatment after being detected for the disease.
