MUMBAI: Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor has spoken candidly about her legendary grandfather Raj Kapoor, whom she called the “showman” of their family and went on to reveal why she never got scolded by him.
In the upcoming episode of Indian Idol a contestant will be seen delivering a mesmerising performance on “Chalat Musafir”, one of the iconic songs associated with Raj Kapoor.
Following the performance, host Aditya Narayan spoke about Raj Kapoor’s legendary stature and said: “Yeh song Raj ji ka hai. Hum unhe as a showman jaante hain, superstar jaante hain, lekin aapne unhe ek family member ke roop mein bhi dekha hain. Aap unhe dada ji ke roop mein jaanti hain kuch batayein na unke baare mein.”
(“This song belongs to Raj ji. We know him as a showman and a superstar, but you have also seen him as a family member. You have known him as a grandfather—please tell us something about him), ” Aditya said.
Responding to this, Karisma Kapoor shared heartfelt insights and said, “I think jo unke insights the, jo unka value system tha, kala aur professionalism yeh sab humne unhi se seekha hai. (I think whatever insights he had, his value system, art, and professionalism — we have learned all of that from him.)”
