CHANDIGARH: On the orders of Election Commission of India, Punjab government has appointed Surinder Lamba as new SSP of Taran Taran, where bye-election process is underway. He has replaced Ravjot Kaur Grewal who was suspended by ECI for interfering in the election process.
Surendra Lamba, a distinguished officer of the Indian Police Service (IPS), has served in various capacities across Punjab, earning recognition for his commitment to law and order, crime prevention, and community policing initiatives. Known for his proactive approach and strict enforcement policies, Lamba brings years of experience in both urban and rural policing to Tarn Taran.
He officially assumed office today and outlined his priorities for the district, emphasizing community engagement, transparent policing, and efficient law enforcement to ensure safety for all citizens.
