Mohinder Singh Randhawa Library, PAU Ludhiana celebrates National Librarians's Day
LUDHIANA: On the occasion of National Librarians' Day- the birth anniversary of Dr. S. R. Ranganathan One-day workshop on "Changing Landscapes in Agricultural Research and Information Management: From AI Discovery to Ethical Synthesis was organized by Mohinder Singh Randhawa Library, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, in collaboration with Agricultural Knowledge Management Unit (AKMU), ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, at Dr. Manmohan Singh Auditorium, PAU. The workshop was organized under the scheme of E-Granth funded by the Division of Agricultural Education, ICAR, New Delhi.
The inaugural session commenced with a welcome address and brief about National Librarians' Day by Dr. Yogita Sharma, University Librarian, PAU. Dr. Amrender Kumar, Principal Scientist ICAR-IARI, New Delhi, gave an overview of the workshop.
Dr. Sukhdev Singh, Deputy Director General (Retd.), National Informatics Centre, Delhi, graced the occasion as Guest Speaker, while Dr. Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU, was the Chief Guest. The workshop aimed to sensitize librarians, researchers, and academicians about the role of Artificial Intelligence in agricultural research, digital repositories, and ethical information synthesis.
The workshop was attended by more than 150 library professionals, faculty, research scholars and students of PAU. The event was moderated by Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, Associate Librarian. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Sunit Bala, Associate Librarian, PAU.
