International Delegation of Eminent Jurists Visits Guru Nanak Dev University, Explores Academic Collaboration

AMRITSAR: Guru Nanak Dev University welcomed a distinguished international delegation of eminent legal professionals led by Judge Ms. Vanessa Zecher (USA), Full-Time Mediator and Arbitrator with Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Services (JAMS), California. The delegation paid a courtesy visit to the University and interacted with Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Karamjeet Singh.

The delegation included Judge Fernando Hoffmann, Judge, Labour Court, Brazil; Dr. (Prof.) Sukh Simranjit Singh, Mediator, JAMS (USA); and Prof. Daljeet Singh, Former Head, Department of Laws, Jalandhar. Dean Academic Affairs Prof. Harvinder Singh Saini, Registrar Dr. K. S. Chahal, senior administrators, and faculty members were also present.

Welcoming the delegates, Prof. (Dr.) Karamjeet Singh highlighted the University's achievements in academic excellence, research, international collaborations, and value-based education inspired by the teachings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. He emphasized GNDU's commitment to innovation, global engagement, and the holistic development of students.

Judge Vanessa Zecher praised the University’s academic and spiritual environment, describing her visit as an enriching educational experience. She expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality and commended the institution for its unique blend of knowledge, values, and culture.

The visiting delegates appreciated GNDU’s vibrant academic atmosphere, its emphasis on ethical values, and its initiatives in internationalisation and legal education. They expressed interest in developing collaborative programmes in law, mediation, arbitration, and judicial studies.

The meeting concluded with both sides expressing optimism about strengthening international academic partnerships, promoting collaborative research, and expanding opportunities for faculty and student engagement in emerging areas of legal education and dispute resolution.
