Three children from Baba Deep Singh Nagar traced safely from New Delhi
KAPURTHALA: The Kapurthala Police have safely traced three children who had gone missing from Baba Deep Singh Nagar on August 2. The children were found in New Delhi and reunited with their families after a swift investigation.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Gaurav Toora said that the complainant, Sanjay Mahto, originally a resident of Ward No. 6, Neel Kanth, Sitamarhi district (Bihar) and presently residing in Gali No. 2, Baba Deep Singh Nagar, had reported that his nine-year-old son, Chandan Kumar, along with two other children from the neighbourhood, had gone missing while playing outside. Suspecting that the children had been wrongfully confined by unknown persons, the complainant lodged a complaint, following which a FIR under section 127(6) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), was registered at City Police Station, Kapurthala.
The SSP said that during the investigation conducted by SHO City Police Station Sub Inspector Ranjit Singh and Sub Inspector Gurmeet Singh, it was established that the children had neither been kidnapped nor wrongfully confined. Instead, they had left home on their own and travelled to New Delhi by train.
Acting promptly on the leads, a police team led by Sub Inspector Gurmeet Singh was dispatched to New Delhi. After completing all necessary legal formalities, the team successfully brought them back safely before reuniting them with their respective families.
SSP Gaurav Toora appreciated the dedicated efforts of the City Police Station team for their prompt response, professional investigation and successful recovery of the children, ensuring their safe return to their families.
