Sankalp and Vishnu receive Asian American Youth Leadership Award

INDIANAPOLIS: Sankalp Srivastava and Vishnu Iyer were among eight outstanding servant leaders from local high schools who were presented the Asian American Youth Leadership Award by chief guest Mayor Joe Hogsett during the Asian Festival at the Global Village Welcome Center 4233 Lafayette Road, Indianapolis, Indiana.

Other outstanding servant leaders felicitated were Aya Wiles, Jasmine Zhang, Mang Tial, Naheed Sherzad, Tuchin Par and Yuefan Ma.

The award recognizes Asian American youth with demonstrated civic leadership and academic achievements in the memory of former board members and president Young-Hee Yednik.

The Indiana Historical Society is proud to partner with the Asian American Alliance in support of Asian Festival.
Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb has proclaimed "the Month of May as Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month in the State of Indiana and invited all citizens to duly note of this occasion."
