HTCI celebrates Janmashthmi filled with devotion, spirituality

INDIANAPOLIS: The Hindu Temple of Central Indiana celebrated Lord Krishma's birthday on Thursday evening filled with devotion, spirituality and fun for the children.

The celebration got off with Radha Krishna Abhishekam. Children dressed as Radha and Krishna joined the procession to Balgopal Dahi Handi.

There were Bhajans until midnight and the evening concluded with Janmotsav Pooja and Jhoola Utsav around midnight.

The eighth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, Krishna has a special place in our culture. Krishna is worshiped as a baby, a friend, divine lover and supreme god. With long standing Geeta Sessions in the temple, Lord Krishna's blessings have always been with the organizers.

Shree Krishna's birth is celebrated on the Krishna Paksha Ashtami in all parts of the world with ratri jagaran and devotional chanting till midnight when Krishna was born.

The priests, Ramaswamy Bhattar, Bardrinath Sapkota, Surya Sundara Vamsi Vadrevu, Baskaran Sundaram Gurukkal and Kamlesh Tiwari, along with other staff members and volunteers were busy throughout the function..
