PHAGWARA: Several activists of the Amberkar Sena Moolnivasi, led by Balwinder Bodh, Doaba Incharge, staged a protest at PS Rawalpindi over the alleged murder of a woman, Muskan, a resident of Sham Nagar, Phagwara. The protest came as Muskan’s family demanded immediate action against her husband, Sunny, a resident of Village Rawalpindi near Phagwara who is accused of causing her death.

According to preliminary reports, Muskan was brought to Civil Hospital Phagwara after allegedly consuming poison. She was subsequently referred to DMC Ludhiana, where she succumbed to the effects of poisoning. Family members of the deceased alleged that Sunny had forcefully administered poison to Muskan following a domestic quarrel. They further claimed that the couple had been embroiled in disputes for the past two years, and that Sunny had physically assaulted her on September 21, 2025, before forcing her to ingest poison.

The tragedy sparked immediate outrage among Muskan’s relatives and local activists, who organized a brief road blockade near Civil Hospital Phagwara between 12:00 pm and 12:30 pm, carrying the deceased’s body as part of their protest.

DSP Phagwara, Bharat Bhushan, confirmed that a case has been registered under Sections 302 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code against Sunny, his sister Simar, and sisters-in-law Manju and Gurpreet. He also stated that the body of the deceased was handed over to her family after an autopsy conducted at the local civil hospital. The police are continuing their investigation into the case.
