Woman among three migrants booked for duping Shahkot resident of Rs 7.80 Lakhs

SHAHKOT: On a complaint lodged by a villager Pal Singh of Village Dhandowal, the Shahkot police have booked three migrants including a woman on the charge of duping the complainant of Rs 7.80 Lakhs.

The Station House Officer Gurindaer Jit Singh said that the accused have been identified as Elangbam Sophiya Devi , Angahal Singh a resident of Manipur state, Zermit Lepcha a resident of North Sikkim, Frantz Bregister a resident of Chenni and their unidentified accomplices .

The Victim complained to the police that the accused became friendly with him using his Facebook ID and lured him by sending foreign currency and gold and duped him of Rs 7.80 Lakhs.

SHO said a case under section 403, 419, 420, 120B IPC and IT act has been registered against the accused
