Woman among nineteen booked for outraging woman’s modesty

NAKODAR:The Nakodar sadar police have booked nineteen persons including a woman on the charge of outraging woman’s modesty, voluntarily causing hurt and rioting.
The investigating officer (IO) and Uggi police post in charge Gurdev Singh said that the accused have been identified as Gurdev Singh a resident of Talwandi Salem, his wife Daljit Kaur , Nachhtar Mainni, Amrik Singh Kohar , Gurmit Singh Hardev Singh and Kamaljit residents of the same village and their 12 unidentified accomplices.

Satwant Kaur wife of Surindar Singh a resident of Talwandi Salem village complained to the police the accused barged into her house and assaulted her with weapons and injured her.

IO said that a case under section 354 (criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 323, 324(voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous weapons or means) and 451(house tress pass in order to commit offence punishable with imprisonment.) 427 (mischief and 148 and 149) of the IPC has been registered against the accused. No arrested have been made and raids are being conducted to nab the absconding accused.
