Unidentified booked for murdering Shankar resident near Nurmahal

PHAGWARA; The Nurmahal police have booked unidentified miscreants on the charge of murdering a Shankar village (Nakodar)resident.

Station House Officer (SHO) Palwindar Singh Ghumann said that the deceased has been identified as Iqbal Singh, alias Bablu, a resident of Shankar village.

The father of the deceased complained to the police that his son was living at Rampur village under Nurmahal police station for the last fifteen years and was running a cloth shop in Nakodar and often used to phone him after reaching Ram Pur, but on February 28, he did not phoned causing concerns.

Dalip Singh said that he, along with his grandson, went in search of Bablu, and when they reached Rampur village passage near the National Highway bridge on the Nurmahal Nakodar Road and saw a dead body lying on the passage, which was of his son Bablu. He said there were deep marks of sharp-edged weapons on the body of his son, who was murdered by unidentified persons, and his moped (PB08-ED-1455)was lying nearby, and demanded action against the culprits.

SHO said a case under section 103 (murder) of the BNS has been registered against an unidentified accused and sent the body to Phillaur civil hospital for postmortem.
