Two women travel agents booked for duping villager of Rs 1.20 lakh

PHAGWARA:  The Nakodar Sadar Khas police have booked two women travel agents for allegedly duping a villager of Rs.1.20 lakh on the pretext of sending him abroad.
Nakodar Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kulwinder Singh Virk  said that the accused have been identified as Ranjit Kaur wife of Harpinder Singh and Seema wife of Des Raj residents of Kotla Jangan village.
DSP said that Sunni a resident of Khiva village complained to Jalandhar(rural) Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) that he paid Rs 1.20 lakh to the accused for facilitating his migration to Italy, but he was not sent abroad nor returned the money.
DSP said that a case under sections 406 (breach of trust), 420 (cheating), and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 13 of the Punjab Travel Professional Act has been registered against the accused after an inquiry.
