Two women among three booked in dowry harassment case

LOHIAN: The Lohian Khas have booked three persons including two women in a dowry harassment case.

The investigating officer (IO) Sawindar Singh said that the accused has been identified as Parwindar Singh a resident of Nawan Pind Khalewal, his mother Jaswindar Kaur and Kulwindar Kaur wife of Santokh Singh a resident of Nawan Thatha village in Kapurthala.

Mandip Kaur daughter of Baldev Singh a resident of Said Pur village in Kapurthala complained to the police that She was present in her in-laws house at Nawan Pind Khalewal village on February 6 when her mother in law Jaswindar Kaur along with two other accused assaulted and injured her and threatened with dire consequences adding that they were harassing her for bring more dowry.

IO said that a case under sections 498-A ((husband or relative of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) 406(breach of trust) 323, 324(voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous weapons or means) 506(criminal intimidation) and 34(committing crime with common intention) of the IPC has been registered against the accused.
