NAKODAR: The Nakodar sadar police have arrested two villagers on the charge of outraging woman’s modesty.
The investigating officer(IO) and In-charge Nakodar Women Cell Inspector Rajvir Kaur said that the accused have been identified as Sarabjit Singh alias Sabi a resident of Dhaliwal village and Gurindar Singh alias Monu a resident of Chania .
The mother of the victim complained to the police that the accused made obscene moves toward her minor daughter and tried to rape her in the fields where she had gone to attend nature’s call.
IO said that a case under sections 354(criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) 354-A (physical contact and advances involving unwelcome and explicit sexual overtures;) of the IPC and sections 8-12 of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act has been registered against the accused.
