Travel agent booked for duping Sindharr village resident of Rs.10.80 Lakhs

LOHIAN: The Lohian Khas police have booked a travel agent for duping a Sindharr village resident of Rs.10.80 Lakhs on the pretext of sending him abroad.

The station house officer (SHO) Bhalwindar Singh Bhullar said that the accused has been identified as Jaspal Singh a resident of Valtoha village in Taran Tarn .

SHO said that Amrit Pal Singh a resident of Sindharr village complained to Jalandhar(rural) senior superintendent of police that he paid Rs 10.80 Lakhs to the accused for facilitating his migration abroad but the accused did not send him abroad and not returned the money.

SHO said that a case under sections 406(breach of Trust) and 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 13 of the Punjab Travel Profession Regulation Act has been registered against the accused.
