Three Youths Arrested for Harassing Schoolgirls

PHAGWARA: Three youths were arrested in Talwandi Chaudhrian near Kapurthala after allegedly harassing schoolgirls and causing them to fall from their scooter.

According to the complaint filed by Jawahar Singh, a resident of Bhaini Hussekhan, the incident took place on August 22, when he was returning home from Hawkworth School with his children. His three nieces, identified as Raj Kaur, Mandeep Kaur, and Ramanpreet Kaur, students of the Government School in Talwandi Chaudhrian, were also returning home on an electric scooter.

Singh stated that as they were on their way, three youths—Arsdeep Singh, son of Nirmal Singh of Talwandi Chaudhrian; Harpreet alias Harman, son of Balwinder Singh of Basti Chandigarh, Sultanpur Lodhi; and Armaan, son of Mangal Singh of Gidharpindi, Jalandhar—followed them on a Jupiter scooter (registration PB 41E 0798) and a motorcycle. The trio allegedly began teasing the girls and blocked their way by pulling their scooter in front, causing the schoolgirls’ vehicle to lose balance and crash.

Police confirmed that all three accused have been arrested and booked under relevant sections. The investigation is going on.
