SHAHKOT :The Shahkot police have booked 28 persons including three women of the charge of assaulting a shopkeeper.The investigating officer (IO) Lakhvir Singh said that the accused have been identified as Neha wife of Rahul and Nitu wife of Manga residents of Malsian village, Rubi a resident of Khambrra village and their twenty-five unidentified accomplices.
Ravi Kumar a resident of Malsian village complained to the police that Rubi along with her twenty-five accomplices attacked him at his shop adding that the attack was at the behest of Neha and Nitu.
IO said a case under sections 324(voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous weapons or means) 451(house-trespass to commit offence punishable with imprisonment.) and 148 and 149(rioting) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC has been registered against the accused.
