PHGWARA: Kapurthala Police have registered a case against three persons on charges including criminal conspiracy, forgery, and submission of false evidence in connection with a court matter in Kapurthala district. The case has been filed under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 194, 199, 200, 465, 466, 467, 468, 471, and 120B.
The accused have been identified as Manjit Singh, resident of Thikriwal village near Kapurthala , Pyara Singh, resident of Bishanpur; and Darshan Kumar, resident of Shergattu area in, Kapurthala.
According to police sources, the case originates from a complaint submitted by court reader Shalini Tuli in the court of Judicial Magistrate Navjeetpal Kaur. The complaint pertains to a previously registered case, numbered 206 dated July 27, 2024, in which the accused allegedly prepared and submitted forged documents and false surety papers to secure bail for another individual, Dev Darshan, son of Bharat Bhushan, a resident of Shergattu.
Investigations revealed that the accused persons allegedly fabricated documents and presented false guarantees in court on June 10, 2025, to facilitate the bail process. It was further stated that Pyara Singh had submitted a sworn statement confirming the authenticity of the bail documents, which has now come under scrutiny.
Based on the findings, police have formally registered the case and initiated further investigation. Authorities stated that strict legal action will be taken if the allegations are proven, emphasizing the seriousness of submitting false evidence and forged documents in judicial proceedings.
