CHANDIGARH: Haryana Home and Health Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that six persons have been arrested by the STF and further investigation is on and has succeeded in busting an International Gang. Sh. Vij was interacting with the media persons today.
STF team went to Dubai for investigation
He said that the threat calls received by the MLAs came from Dubai number and for this a team was also sent to Dubai. The cooperation of central agencies was also taken to investigate this matter as it was a matter related to other countries. He said that STF started getting some contacts and points in the investigation and started moving forward in this case.
Four persons were arrested from Bihar and two from Mumbai
Sh. Vij said that the IP addresses from which the calls were made were traced. Thereafter, the STF team raided Bihar and caught four persons in Bihar. He said that ATM cards, pass books, cheque books were found in large numbers from these persons. Sh. Vij said that one team was sent to Mumbai and two persons were arrested from Mumbai.
Calls from Dubai numbers used to route from Pakistan*
The Home Minister said that in the case of threats received by the MLAs, the calls were from Dubai number but used to route from Pakistan. He said that many people of Pakistan are involved in this matter and the people of Pakistan are the masterminds in the case of threats to the MLAs. He said that investigation is going on in this case and a lot of information has been received by the STF. He said that in this case, this gang works to rob people and by luring or threatening people, opening people's accounts themselves, putting money in those accounts, keeping cheque books, ATM cards themselves and money from those accounts. Some of them were hailing from Pakistan.
Terror links not found in threat case yet
Regarding the terrorist links in the threats received by the MLAs, he said that such links have not come to the fore so far. He said that the investigation is going on and whatever facts will come out, he will put them before the nation.
