CHANDIGARH: The Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission has taken a suo-moto notice regarding the incident of village Jalalpur near Tanda of Hoshiarpur district, in which 6 year old girl was raped and burnt alive.
Ms. Tejinder Kaur, Chairperson of the commission, said that this was a shocking incident and had come to her knowledge through media reports. The commission has sought a detailed report from Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Hoshiarpur by October 26, 2020 and also ordered to take stern action against the culprits in the case promptly.
Chairperson also directed Commission member Mr. Prabhdiyal to vist the family to assess the ground reality and submit a report to commission in this regard.
