PHAGWARA: A Mandir Priest Manjit kumar(48) who was missing since May 19 was reportedly found murdered near a drain in Village Behram on Phagwara— Banga Road this morning.
SSP Alka Meena while confirming it told this correspondent here today that the police in the presence of Executive Officer exhumed the body of the deceased priest and sent to civil hospital for post-mortem examination.
SSP Meena told that the police have arrested an killer Manjot @ Mani resident of Village Aurr, a sewadar of the mandir under section 302/34/120B of IPC, while his other accomplice Mandip @ Kinder resident of Village Garhpadhana and his beloved Jasmine@ Jassi are still at large.
SSP said as per preliminary investigations it was revealed that Mandip has love affairs with minor Jasmine(adopted daughter of the deceased) and these affairs were being objected by the deceased Priest. The Police have sounded an alert and police parties have been dispatched to nab the absconded couple.
