SHAHKOT: The Shahkot police have arrested one person and booked twenty-five persons on the charges of assault and rioting.The investigating officer (IO) and Malsian police post in-charge Sanjivan Singh said that the accused has been identified as Satnam Singh a resident of Nimaji Pur village.
Gurdip Singh a resident of the same village complained to the police that the accused barged into his house on May 5 and attacked him with sharp edged weapons and seriously injured and threatened him with dire consequences and ransacked house.
IO said that a case under sections 323, 324 (voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous weapons or means) 452 (house tress pass) 427(mischief) , 506(criminal intimidation) and 148 and 149(rioting) of the ipc has been registered against the accused and Paramjit Singh and Sunny residents of Nimaji Pur village and their twenty-five unidentified accomplices.
